Reporting In !!!!

G'day everyone, sorry about the lack of posts, but we have had a very busy time here. So much to be done, so many places to visit - doctors, specialists, catching up with old friends and visits from family members and in the middle of it all we had used up all Mum's broadband useage for the month .. oooopppps .. let me tell you "Not a happy Jan".. LMAO ... soooooo ... let me fill you all in on the going ons.

* Mum has had a slight setback in both eyes, she now has fluid in the retina, its a very rare occurance, I think the specialist said 1 / 10,000 .. naturally my mother is one of them ! There is nothing that can be done except MORE drops and time. We went back to specialist on Wednesday and I'm happy to report a slight improvement (reduction in fluid) but Mums sight has deteriated slightly. We have our fingers crossed that it will improve again once the fluid has dispersed.

* Aunty Pauline had her 6mth check up at her oncologist, and we are happy to report all is well and she doesnt have to go back for another 12mths. BIGGGG sigh of relief.

* Mums friend and neighbour Marge suffered a heart attack, and ambulanced down to Melbourne. We are happy to report she is now back home with a pacemaker and doing extremely well. I'm affectionately known as "meals in slippers" as I cook and take there evening meal into them .. I'm just lucky they are not fussy eaters !

Well thats enough about the nursing reports ... think I'm just about qualified now - could be an optimologist with all the new learnings !

* I would like to thank Merle for her phone calls and chats with mum, your a very special lady - THANK YOU xxooxx

Ones chores dont end just with nursing .. ohhh nooooo .. along with cook, cleaner, go getter, my side line is dog groomer and walker ... and what a job that is. My hubby Ian come up for the week end and brought along my babies for a little TLC.

Here I am grooming Penny, with my babies Zoey, Milly and Bonnie eagerly awaiting their turn.

All looking pretty and fluffed up, off for a walk down to the river.

All a bit to much for Penny... here she is catching a few ZZZZZZZ's

Joanne, Colin and tribe along with Tanya, Rod and there tribe arrived last weekend for a catch up visit and the first seasonal dip in the pool .. and what a hot one it was 38 - 40 deg C.

Heres Jack, Jo & Cols baby - sire to Milly & Bonnie .. we affectionately refer to him as "Sir Humpalot" !
I have been here at mums for over a month now, and will be heading home later next week if all goes well to catch up with my chores at home .. grrrrr .. then I shall be returning early next month to do the rounds of the doctors and specialists again. Lady Jen has had her orders to abstain from the computer and gardening, but I know I'm wasting my breath, but at least I've tried !!!

Stay safe, be happy until next time we chat !!!

PS: Lady Jen will be around to visit you all shortly ... in small bursts I hope !!!!

Hi Carol,

Thanks for the update on Jen. It is quite a worry for her. I hope her ophthalmologist is more optimistic about her recovery on her next visit. I would even consider a second opinion, if that is a possibility.

I love your dogs, are they all Maltese? We have two little puff balls, Chloe and Luigi, they are Coton De Tulears. "A rare breed, related to the Maltese, Bichon Frise, and poodle group." Great little companions! I also groom my little ones and understand what a backbreaking experience it is.

Jen.. Take care, hope you will be back to normal real soon. It is great to have such a supportive daughter in times like these. You are blessed :)

Hi Cazz, thank you for this update. I am soooooo sorry for her setback.

You are a good daughter for her. I sure am glad she put you on the blog way back when she left on extended holiday. She is a good Mom for you.

Jen, you are on my prayer list. It has been a while since I'd heard and for sure I thought you were just out traveling and bowling and having fun. Blogging is for rainy days anyway.

Cheers,
..

What a wonderful daughter you are, Carol. As for your mum and her retinal fluid, I know of a wonderful ophthalmologist here in Brisbane who specialises in those cases. I used to work for him and he'd have Jen fixed up in no time.

Anyway, I hope all goes well with her. But you seem to have had a really busy time of it lately...your husband is a very understanding man...what a find!

Give Jen a hug and all the best to you, too, Nurse Carol.

Dear Carol ~~ Thanks so much for the update on your Mum. I so hope her eyes improve very soon, or even fly to Brisbane and see Robyn's doctor who specialises in these cases.
Thank you so much for being so good to your Mum and I hope your eyes are better for your new glasses. Thanks also for the mention, I've been so worried.

Dear Jan ~~ Peter is coming down here this week about Thursday and I
was telling him about you and he said he would take me to see you
so that will be nice. We will bring food or whatever.

Much love to you both. Merle.

Carol, I have so much respect for you - everything a Mum could wish for, and more. Just wish I lived closer so I could help out with shopping, housework and chats over a cuppa. My friend Helen (around the corner from me) had a stroke a few years ago, and I take her out when I can, as well as just popping in to sit and chat. I feel for your Mum - our eyesight is so important to us, and with everything else she has gone through, this is one more damn thing to put up with! I do hope it improves enough for her to continue enjoying her computer friends, not to mention getting on with life in general.
{{{{Hugs}}}} to both of you.

No matter what Peter says, you are a wonderful daughter, taking such good care of your mother.

It's been quite awhile since I have come by for a visit, and am so sorry to hear about your eye problems. I have cataracts developing, but not ready for surgery just yet. I hope I'm not one of those 1/10,000.

Hopefully by now you are much improved.

Ann

It not easy nursing, but it sounds like you are doing a fine job. I hope lady Jen listens to you too. I'll keep her in my prayers that your mum has a complete recovery.

Hi Jen,

I have been thinking about you, hoping your eyes are much improved. I hope you will be 100% better by the 25th. It would be a wonderful Christmas gift, wouldn't it?
