A Letter

Hi everyone, hope your all feeling on top of the world were ever you maybe.Summer has come a few weeks early, Been getting high temps for a few weeks now, today forecast 41c =103f. Ahhh well have to get used to it going to be hot for the next few months, Thank heavens for Air con.
Sorry im a bit slow visiting you all as my backs playing up and I cant sit too long but I will get around to visiting you all very soon.

So today ill give you all a rest from my Photo's,
I recieved this from a friend in the US and thought it too nice not to share .But be warned its a tear Jerker
This is one of the kindest things I've ever experienced. I have no way to know who sent it, but there is a kind soul Working in the dead letter office of the US postal service.
Our 14 year old dog, Abbey, died last month.

The day after she died, my 4 year old daughter Meredith was crying and talking about how much she missed Abbey.She asked if we could write a letter to God so that when Abbey got to heaven, God would recognize her. I told her that I thought we could so she dictated these words:

Dear God

Will you please take care of my dog? She died yesterday and is with you in heaven.
I miss her very much. I am happy that you let me have her as my dog even though she got sick. I hope you will play with her. She likes to play with balls and to swim. I am sending a picture of her so when you see her You will know that she is my dog.
I really miss her.Love, Meredith.
We put the letter in an envelope with a picture of Abbey and Meredith and addressed it to God/Heaven. We put our return address on it.
Then Meredith pasted several stamps on the front of the envelope because she said it would take lots of stamps to get the letter all the way to heaven.
That afternoon she dropped it into the letter box at the post office. A few days later, she asked if God had gotten the letterYet. I told her that I thought He had.Yesterday, there was a package wrapped in gold paper on our front porch addressed,
"To Meredith" in an unfamiliar hand.
Meredith opened it. Inside was a book by Mr. Rogers called, "When a Pet Dies." Taped to the inside front cover was the letter we had written to God in its opened envelope.
On the opposite page was the picture of Abbey & Meredith and this note:
Dear Meredith
,Abbey arrived safely in heaven.Having the picture was a big help. I recognized Abbey right away. Abbey isn't sick anymore.
Her spirit is here with me just like it stays In your heart. Abbey loved being your dog.
Since we don't need our bodies in heaven, I don't have any pockets to keep your picture in,
so I am sending it back to you in this little book for you to keep and have something to remember Abbey by.
Thank you for the beautiful letter and thank your mother for helping you write it and sending it to me. What a wonderful mother you have.
I picked her especially for you.I send my blessings every day and remember that I love you very much.By the way, I am wherever there is love.Love,
God

LITTLE JOHNNY ON... PHILOSOPHY:
A Teacher asks her class, "If there are 5 birds sitting on a fence and you shoot one of them, how many will be left?" He replies, "None, they will all fly away with the first gun shot." The teacher replies, "The correct answer is 4, but I like your thinking."
Then little Johnny says "I have a question for YOU. There are Three women sitting on a bench having ice cream: One is delicately licking the sides of the triple scoop of ice cream. The second is gobbling down the top and sucking the cone. The third is biting off the top of the ice cream. Which one is married?" The teacher, blushing a great deal, replied, "Well, I suppose the one that's gobbled down the top and sucked the cone."
To which Little Johnny replied, "The correct answer is 'the one with the wedding ring on', but I like your thinking."

Bob's in trouble...
.Bob works hard at the plant and spends two nights each week bowling and plays golf every Saturday.
His wife thinks he's pushing himself too hard, so for his birthday she takes him to a local strip club.
The doorman at the club greets them and says, "Hey, Bob! How ya doin?"His wife is puzzled and asks if he's been to this club before.
"Oh no,"says Bob. "He's on my bowling team.
When they are seated, a waitress asks Bob if he'd like his usual and brings over a Budweiser.
His wife is becoming increasingly uncomfortable and says, "How did she know that you drink Budweiser?""I recognize her, she's the waitress from the golf club.
I always have a Bud at the end of the 1st nine, honey.
"A stripper then comes over to their table, throws her arms around Bob, starts to rub herself all over him and says, "Hi Bobby.
Want your usual table dance, big boy?Bob's wife, now furious, grabs her purse and storms out of the club.
Bob follows and spots her getting into a cab.Before she can slam the door, he jumps in beside her.
Bob tries desperately to explain how the stripper must have mistaken him for someone else, but his wife is having none of it.
She is screaming at him at the top of her lungs, calling him every 4 letter word in the book.
The cabby turns around and says, "Geez Bob, you picked up a real bitch this time."

AN OUTSTANDING STUDENT
A blond girl comes back from school one evening. She runs to her mum and says: "Mummy today at school we learnt how to count. Well, all the other girls only counted to 5, but listen to me: 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10! It's good, innit?"
"Yes darling, very good."
"Is that because I'm blond?"
"Yes darling, it's because you're blond."
Next day, the little girl comes back from school and says: "Mummy, today at school we learnt the alphabet. All the other girls only went as far as D, but listen to me: A,B,C,D,E,F,G,H,I,J,K ! It's good "innit?"
"Yes darling, very good.""Is that because I'm blond, mummy?"
"Yes darling it's because you're blond.
Next Day, she returns from school and cries: "Mummy, today we went swimming. Well, all the other girls have no breasts, but look at me!" She proceeds to flash her impressive 36 D's at her mummy. "Is that because I'm blond, mummy?"
"No darling, it's because you're 25."

Dear Jan ~~ Great post ~ I loved the Letter and also the jokes and the verse at the end. Thanks for your comments, Yes we had 41 C too. The words "long hot summer" are starting to haunt us, a bit too early. I hope your back is feeling better. Free free to cancel Thursday if you need to. Jan: Thanks for stopping by. I love your post....a real tear jerker story of the boy and his dog. Lovely flowers in your garden. Getting ready for Thanksgiving so there's not much time to stay but I will be back when I can visit longer. Soooo nice to meet you. 103 degrees! Yikes! It doesn't even get that hot here in the middle of summer. Gotta run.....ciao for now!

I loved the story about the little girl's letter and the funny stories that followed. But best of all is being able to hear about your summer season while I've been in cold, drizzling rain for the last two weeks. The pictures of your beautiful gardens will have to keep me going until May! :)

Hi,

Your dear God story made me cry, I don't know if you remember but we had to put our own dog to sleep over this past summer, she was 20.

Silvia Brown who write spiritual books and books on dreaming said that she wouldn't want to go to heaven if her pets weren't there. But she believes they do go there, and that your favorite pets has a soul just like we do.

I asked once a Dervish but he didn't give me a real answer I guess that's their secret. But I think they put themselves in a kind of trance because when they whirl around they have open eyes and stare in an empty space, at least it looks like that to me.

Hi Jeanette. The Dear God story made me cry. It's a coincidence because just a few nights ago, Yohan woke up crying. He had a dream about our dog Miko who passed away last year. I told him before that Miko was in Heaven with Jesus (Yohan refers to him as Papa Jesus). He said he wants to pray to Papa Jesus to bring Miko back because he misses him very much. I explained to my son that Miko cannot come back but he need not worry because he is happy in Heaven.
