INDOOR CARPET BOWLS

HI everyone
Another busy weekend passed been bowling again . But firstly
I would like to welcome my son and daughter to blogging
thought you might like too pop over pay them a visit
and make them feel welcome in sure they would appreciate it.
INDOOR CARPET BOWLS
ANNUAL CHALLENGE MATCH AT S.S & A. ALBURY
Between S.S &A.(Sailors, Servicemen & Airmen) and Mulwala Services Club.
There are eight mats with with eight teams of four from both clubs.
I bowl for Mulwala Services and were in the blue shirts and navy slacks
we also used the black bowls all day . A coin is tossed to see what
colour is yours for the day
so each mat consists of a team from both clubs eight players and we
played three games of twelve ends.
The team I played in won two out of three games.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Yours truly delivering her bowl
down she goes down the mat and in for shot our team scored 3 delivering on another end
in for shot again this is were we score 5 i have already removed three
and and the next two black are ours . Its nearest to kitty scores
thats the small white one its possible to score eight the maxium in one
end but thats not very often
thats my foot nearest to camera as I play third for our team
its my place to determine how many shots we score .
A little quote
Practice makes perfect
But nobody's perfect
So why practice?
indoor lawn bowls - what a good idea... so all the games are played at once... tell me, is there ever a problem with bowls(balls) going across into the lane beside you? That would play havoc I imagine.
Congrats on winning, it's good to have a sport, we love ten-pin bowling but never get to go these days.
Jen,
Thanks for showing pictures of this. It makes it easier to visualize when you write about bowling..
I used to bowl but it was with a big ball (16 pounds) and ten pins. A perfect score was 300!
Hi Jen,
Huh? I thought bowling on the green meant you bowled outside, as apposed to our own bowling alleys here in the states?
Well, I did learn something new then.
Hello Jan ~~ Are you trying to outdo
Peter and Marcus with more family blogs?
The pictures give an idea of how bowls are played, so now you don't have to do a description! Thanks for your comment
on my 9/11 tribute. I was going to put the words of Alan Jackson's song "Where
were you when the world stopped urning?"
on but Peter has the music of it on his blog. Take care, my friend, Love, Merle.
Great action shots!
About the sunbird - she just wouldn't leave! Though she's pretty quiet. The men are the singers of that species, though they're not much for singing either. Still, they can afford to keep quiet because they just look so pretty.
Raggedy
i get a lot of enjoyment playing carpet or lawn bowls.
Dellab
this is indoor carpet bowls.
there is many a bowl that goes off the mat but the third or skip has to move fast to pick bowl up before it interferes with the game next to you then its classed as a dead bowl.
Sue
Thank You for Comment
all my family has played ten pin.
Janice
Merle
Hey mum,
I'm with Gary ... I think a better explanation of how the game is played is needed, I know a little and I was confused !!!!
Its very simular to outdoor "Lawn Bowls" as far as scoring, and playing ends isnt it ???
Nice post & photos
Hi Jan -- Thanks for the 'bowl' pictures.
It looks somewhat like the French game of 'boule.' Each player has three steel balls and the closest to the little rubber ball wins for his/her team.
I'll put a picture of that on SOON.
..
Oh yes, it's late for me now, but I will visit your daughter's site.
