My "Mate" Gwen
Forever in My Heart
My dearest "mate" Gwen passed away yesterday 12th March, 2009.
Gwen was diagnosed with advanced aggressive pancreatic and liver cancer 2 weeks ago. Her battle was short and bravely fought.
My deepest and most heartfelt sympathy to Brian, Gavin Janine, Damien, Drew & Nicole.
Gwen was one of lifes "true" characters
She was always there to lend a helping hand,
a shoulder to lean upon, and a tissue when needed,
She was my partner in crime, and loved to have a really good time,
She never said "NO" to a brandy & dry,
Always had a joke on hand or a tall tale to tell,
Many great memories of good times shared
Forever in my heart and thoughts
A great "mate" and companion who will be dearly missed
Rest In Peace

So sorry for the loss of your friend. It was good she didn't have a long time of suffering. I know she will be missed by her family and friends.
Dear Jan ~~ Great tribute to dear Gwen. She will be very sadly missed by so many of us. I love the photo with the little dog. Is it Penny?
Do look after yourself now Jan, you must be so very upset and tired too.
Once the funeral is over, you get some real rest.
And at least dear Gwen is not in such great pain any more. Let's be
thankful for that. Take great care
dear friend, I love you, Merle.
Oh, Jeanette, that is so sad. And so sudden. Hope her family are coping ok, and hope you are doing ok, too. Gwen was a gorgeous person, I imagine you will miss her terribly. Thanks for letting me know. If there is anything I can do ... please ask.
Lots of love from Connie, Baron and Elisabeth xxx
You must feel exactly the same as I did and do when my best friend since 32 years passed away at 66 of colon cancer which is very similar to the pancreatic one. It was yesterday exactly one week ago. I couldn't write it on my blog.
Dear Jen, I am so sorry for your loss. I know what it is to lose a dear friend. It happens more and more especially now we get older. The photos are great reminders of better times. That particular kind of cancer is the worst.
I wish you lots of strength!

I am so sorry for you and all of Gwen's very dear friends and family. She will be missed for a long time. And I will always remember her from these few years I have been able to know her through the blogging world.
Thank you for this wonderful tribute post of her. She was your 'bud,' your 'mate.' She always seemed so happy although I gather she had a lot of pain and suffering lately.
May God bless you all and may He allow you to keep your wonderful memories of her. And may she be resting in peace now with her Lord.
I will remember her along with my Aussie friends as the lovely lady and cheerful friend of you all she was.

A wonderful tribute to your dear friend. That cancer is the same that took away my favorite cousin over a year ago. Peace be with you.
